Thoughts and authenticity.

It has been brought to my attention that art, in this day and age, can very easily be inauthentic.

It can be generated by AI yet deemed 'original', simply due to a paintbrush hitting the canvas, or it having an original prompt. It can be projected onto a screen, stenciled or traced.

It sucks in some ways, to not know what you're getting. To pay for something inauthentic. But to copy is to learn. I'm sure I've done it in the past - consciously or subconsciously.. but that is what makes true art worth it’s value. Especially right now- to know the process is to know the art and to know that the artist is giving organic authentic energy into their work.

Money is being made from AI art, that is for certain. Just want something interesting for your walls? Then go for it. It is similar to buying something mass produced in many ways - the energy is no organic. It is like eating factory farmed meats or processed foods. Real art is like real food. It provides nutrition to your soul. You feel it in some way or another.

Maybe the art comforts you. It helps you feel that someone has gone through the same thing as you. Or maybe it uplifts you- inspires you to be better. Maybe, it brings you to a place in time, to somewhere you've been or dreamed of going. Maybe it brings you closer to someone you love- or it is an expression of love through the image itself or through the art of giving.

Art is here to stay.
It is truly like nutrition for your energy and for your soul. It brings you somewhere- and if the artist is good enough - it brings you into the artist’s world or shows you what they see. In my case, a more vibrant world, and a more contemplative world.

AI can be quite helpful. I have begun to use it to generate reference images that I never could have created otherwise. The end result - and the interpretation of the prompted image- is my own. There is intention behind it and brushstrokes on top of it.

I've always struggled to create or find reference images (without feeling like i’m stealing). I used to create my own / use stock images or merge multiple references in my mind to create something cohesive. It takes many, many iterations to depict my desired design, but still far less time (and money) than if I would have set up a scene on my own.

AI is a useful tool and will be used more and more as our future unfolds. I want to remain transparent about the use of it so nothing needs to be speculated. I feel inspired and exhausted by it at the same time.
